1. How search results are sorted

Banaki sorts search results by these criteria, in this order:

1. Listings with instant booking come first.
2. Next come the accommodation's reviews. Currently the average rating rounded to whole stars counts, better ones first. The number of reviews is not relevant for this.
3. Next comes the date on which the listing was created. Newer listings come before older ones.

There is no paid placement. No host can buy a better position, and the commission does not affect the order.

2. Downgrading after repeated cancellations

Banaki can downgrade a listing because of the host's repeated cancellations. This does not happen automatically but after a review of the individual case. A host who cancelled for good cause, for example because of force majeure or an official closure, is therefore not downgraded. If a listing is downgraded, it appears behind listings without this measure. The host learns the reason by email and can file a complaint.

3. Why this order

Instant booking comes first because you get a binding confirmation sooner. The accommodation's reviews come next because they show how other guests experienced the stay. The date on which the listing was created comes last, so that new listings stay visible among accommodations with equal ratings.

4. How reviews come about

Guests and hosts review each other after a completed stay. Only users with a booking completed through Banaki can leave a review. Banaki checks this against the booking before the review function is enabled. There are no reviews on Banaki from people who have not booked.

5. How reviews are handled

Reviews are published as they are written. A review must be based on the reviewer's own stay and be truthful. Reviews in exchange for consideration, reviews by the host or the host's relatives, insults and false statements of fact are prohibited. Banaki can hide reviews that violate this or the law. A host cannot have a review hidden merely because the host does not like it. There is no reply function for hosts.

6. Changes to this procedure

If the way Banaki sorts search results or checks reviews changes, this page is updated accordingly. Banaki informs hosts in advance under the Terms and Conditions for Hosts.
